Family Photos //Five Places to take Family Photos in Manchester

I believe in taking photos of your family wherever you will all feel the most comfortable. The COPPER + OLIVE PHOTO approach is to deliver you photos that really capture your personalities in true form - so an artificial setting is not my bag!

I will always ask you if there is a preferred location - many families will want to stay in their own home/ garden - or go to their local park where they spend many precious days with their loved ones.

If you fancy an adventure somewhere different, then I have lots of ideas for locations depending on what you love doing as a family! So feel free to pick my brains when choosing where to have your shoot!

Here are five places that are great to take some natural family photos of your own on a day out!

  1. Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens, Didsbury

You can spend a good few hours at Fletcher Moss. The Gardens are a beautiful place for so many photos,. They are mostly set on a steep decline so its best for older families without prams. It feels like a maze of teeny paths to explore through the exotic foliage. You can follow the wooden walkway up to the River Mersey and snap some shots of the kids trying to spot the parrots and woodpeckers along the way!

  2. Lymm Dam, Lymm

This is a great, easy circular walk around the dam with lots of lovely views across the water and woodland for those natural shots. Very buggy friendly. The Church Inn is also great for a post walk brunch.

  3. Bramhall Park, Stockport

This is a great, small park to take your family too year round. There is a beautiful old hall with some manicured gardens at the front, which makes a great backdrop for some photos. Take a lovely walk around the water where you can capture the little ones feeding the ducks! The playground is also great for the kids- and the path leading up to it is tree lined and particular great for autumnal photos.

  4. Heaton Park, Manchester

This is a really fun place to take photos as there is loads of open space for the children to run around and play games. But the highlight is the Animal Centre. It is free to enter and you are bound to great some great shots of the kids saying hi to the alpacas!

  5. Giant Frog Trial, Stockport

Last but not least, this trail with 21 giant frogs to find is a great way to get the kids excited and for you to enjoy capturing their big smiles and jumps for joy!
