This shoot was gifted to the family by Mama Claire’s sister - the Claire and Ollie admitted they were not really “photo people” and were a little apprehensive about the shoot. But even minutes into the shoot, they were already talking about how comfortable they felt and how they’d love to have their baby daughter’s life documented by me through the years.

It can be a daunting thought to have a photographer in your home, during those chaotic early days, but let me assure you it is worth it to capture those precious days when the baby is so teeny and sleepy. You really don’t have to worry about the house looking to its usual standard, or spending ages getting ready to feel like your best self when you’re struggling to even find time to shower at the moment. I always say this - I am a mama, and I totally get it!! I won’t judge the mess or the chaos - I am just there to capture those precious moments and lend an ear to new parents as they navigate this next chapter.

It sounds such a cliche, but it really is an honour to be invited into a home to document this unique period in a family’s life.

As babies are only really sleepy newborns for such a short amount of time, I’d highly recommend booking in your newborn shoot before the baby arrives. We pencil in a date and then confirm it once the baby is born (all sorts of things like late/early arrival times, hospital stays etc etc may affect the date).
