Didsbury Newborn Photographer // New baby gifts.

It can be so hard finding a gift for new parents - a baby shower gift or a newborn gift. What can you find that they won’t already have or that is actually useful in some way. I’ve found the solution in the form of various, amazing gift vouchers which will be perfect for any newly grown family. They’re all super easy to purchase and will be loved by the new parents!

Some of the vouchers have different options for different budgets, and some are perfect for a friendship group or various family members to all chip in!

1. MEAL PREP

Newborn days can be a whirlwind where new parents feel like they’re not able to actually get much done. Of course, they’re doing everything in keeping their new little person alive and thriving. But making healthy dinners to refuel in those early days can be the last thing they want to, or can, focus on.

When Marnie was born, we were gifted Cook vouchers - and they were a lifesaver! You use the voucher code to order frozen, healthy, wholesome meals, and it couldn’t be easier. I’ve also gifted them to lots of friends with babies!

You can purchase vouchers from the website here.

2. PERSONAL SHOPPING VOUCHER

I recently had a personal shopping experience - which was kindly gifted to me by my husband. I’ve been struggling with my body image since post-breastfeeding hormonal imbalance made me pile on weight uncontrollably. So Mark bought me the voucher for Christmas.

I had a great experience finding out about my shape, colours that suit my skin tone and good tips and tricks to help me dress my new body - and also help me find shopping so much less overwhelming. And my stylist was lovely and understanding and helped a very nervous mama actually find new outfits that worked!

Mark chose Jennifer Jones Styling for my voucher as he found they specialise in dressing mums - so they totally get it.

As I was wandering around the shops, I thought to myself that this would make a great gift for a new mum. The vouchers last for a year (with Jennifer Jones) so your friend / family member can choose a time when they feel up to it before baby’s first birthday.

As well as being a super helpful and practical gift, it is also fun and will be a great confidence booster for a new mum!

3. AT HOME MASSAGE VOUCHERS

New parents - especially mamas - can feel very neglected. They’ve grown and birthed a child, they’re not feeling themselves, they’re exhausted, they have little to no time for themselves, they might not yet be able to imagine leaving baby at home with daddy or grandparents yet, they could use a treat!

So what could be better for them than an at home massage? No need to leave baby, mama can be in the next room just in case which will help her relax. You could even get a double massage for mum and dad if grandparents / someone else is on hand!

Urban Massage is a great option for in-home massages and they do gift vouchers on their website.

4. BABY CLASS TERM VOUCHERS

One of the little joys about having a baby is taking them to baby classes - watching their little faces light up at the shiny objects at a baby sensory class, singing to them and connecting with your little squidge, getting some gentle movement in at a baby yoga class. They really help new parents to get out of the house when the time is right and have a little structure to their week. They can also be really great for making new friends!

Just have a little google for baby classes in your local area and ask if they do vouchers! One of the ones I loved in Didsbury was Bloom.

5. COFFEE VOUCHER

Caffeine is pretty much a staple of any new parent’s diet - so a gift to fuel their way through the early days would always go down well!

There are a couple of different options - like a coffee subscription so your pals / family members can have some delish coffee delivered to their door every fortnight / week. Origin Coffee do some great subscriptions.

Or how about a voucher for an independent coffee shop near them. Pram walks are an integral part of maternity / paternity leave life, so giving them a voucher which they can use to fuel their caffeine habit on these walks - or when they’re meeting other parent pals - is ideal

6. NEWBORN SHOOT

Of course, as a family photographer, I think this is the ultimate gift! What is more precious than gifting someone with forever memories of a very special time in their lives. The gift of a family shoot - whether it is a newborn shoot in those very early days or when baby is more awake and interactive - it is a gift that will mean so much to your loved people.

You can purchase gift vouchers for any amount to put towards a shoot, or you can purchase a voucher for the shoot fee and any package. The family shoot gift vouchers are presented in a lovely linen envelope and finished with dried flowers and a name tag for the recipient. They’re super pretty and make beautiful gifts you’ll be excited to give!

If you’d love to gift your friends / family members a family shoot, just click the below button to enquire / order your voucher!

Thanks so much,

Laura
