I love it when pregnant mamas bring their partner and/or child(ten) to their maternity shoot. This is really a magical time for the whole family - excited about meeting the new addition. I love seeing a child’s hands on their mummy’s bump, eagerly awaiting their new sibling and life long friend. The whole family cuddled up around bump with lots of love and excitement on their faces.

Bringing your family along doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on solo maternity shots - we will of course get these too! Especially if the other parent or another family member is there to help with any little ones whilst you’re having solo images. I’ve even had maternity shoots with just mum and a young child before where we have managed this! I like to get little ones involved in the shoot and ask them to help me take some photos of mummy.

I love how we could serenely capture these moment with mama of two to be. Some quiet time of reflection to think about the upcoming arrival of baby number two. I hear from so many pregnant mums who already have little ones that they just don’t have the time to think as much about baby’s arrival, unlike with their first. This is a lovely time to really stop and feel - to think about this much wanted little person and who they are going to be, how they are going to slot into your family, and how much they will be adored.
